Just Listen Dream Adaptation

Dream Adaptation

Hiya,

I thought I hadn’t a dream adaptation in a while and I was looking over my read list on Goodreads and thought I could make a good adaptation of this. I did really love this book and I have kept promising a review on this so I’m going to write that straight after this (although it will probably go up beforehand because that makes more sense)
I love doing these so I hope to do more because they are way too fun to not.

I read this book back at the start of October and it was the first book of Sarah Dessen’s I had ever read. Just Listen was so cute and heartbreaking and all the emotions rolled into one and I gave it 4/5 stars.
My very short review on Goodreads was…

This story really resonated with me. I related a lot to Annabel. I also related to Owen quite a bit. In summary it was extremely relatable 😂.
It was a very eye opening book for me, it was so relatable but in a scary way because it took me reading this book to realise the similarities.
if there is one book you read this year to motivate yourself I highly recommend this book.
It may not be of the highest literary standards and the plot might have been a little predictable but its deeper meaning was truly helpful and I loved for this reason.

I don’t even know what some of that means…oops :S. And like I said above HERE is my longer, more in depth review if you are interested (I promise I will try not say relatable anymore).

Summary:

Last year, Annabel was “the girl who has everything” — at least that’s the part she played

Just Listen

in the television commercial for Kopf’s Department Store.
This year, she’s the girl who has nothing: no best friend because mean-but-exciting Sophie dropped her, no peace at home since her older sister became anorexic, and no one to sit with at lunch. Until she meets Owen Armstrong.
Tall, dark, and music-obsessed, Owen is a reformed bad boy with a commitment to truth-telling. With Owen’s help, maybe Annabel can face what happened the night she and Sophie stopped being friends.
Production:

This would be a movie. Easy – its a standalone novel and therefore a TV show would be short lived and not really worth it. I would again pick Ari Sandel to direct because of the pitch perfect movies and the Duff because they definitely lie on a similar vien of genre, humour, plot and the like.
Cast:
Full character descriptions here!
I’ve also linked to the actors IMDb pages in case your interested

Thanks and Happy Reading,
Maisy.
