Prediction Book Tag

Hi guys,

Happy Friday! The weekend is just around the corner, do you guys have any nice plans? I just have work and essay writing – bleh haha.

Today I’m doing a tag that I was not tagged to do – as per usual – that I saw on Reading in the Wings blog and I loved it, I thought it was such a cute Idea so I decided to do it. I also thought it was good to do just before my next month TBR cause it might give some hints to what will be on my list for March.

My next read is kind of boring – well, not the book cause I’ve not read it yet so it could be good or bad – anyways…it’s The Island of Doctor Moreau by H. G Wells. I have to read this for my course and before I do any personal reading for the week I want to get this done first. It also means that I’m getting to read another classic which will be nice, I have high hopes.

A shipwreck in the South Seas, a palmy paradise where a mad doctor conducts vile experiments, animals that become human & then “beastly” in ways they never were before – -it’s the stuff of high adventure. It’s also a parable about Darwinian theory, a social satire in the vein of Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels & a bloody tale of horror.
As Wells himself wrote: “The Island of Dr. Moreau is an exercise in youthful blasphemy. Now & then, tho I rarely admit it, the universe projects itself towards me in a hideous grimace. It grimaced that time, & I did my best to express my vision of the aimless torture in creation.”
This colorful tale by the author of The Time MachineThe Invisible Man & The War of the Worlds lit a firestorm of controversy at the time of its publication in 1896.

I’ve been meaning to read Shaken (Struck #3) by Joss Stirling for ages. I know I will love it because I adored the first two in the series – which I have reviewed (Here #1, and here #2)

In a tall, narrow brownstone, in Brooklyn, New York, there is a girl with a secret. That girl is Rose Knight. She needs to raise millions of dollars to save her father’s life. The arrogant and suave Damien Castle is good at uncovering secrets. He’s even better at catching criminals. When he meets Rose he knows something is amiss but he can’t help but get distracted. It isn’t her terrible dress sense that confuses him, or even her obsession with Egyptology. It’s the fact that he has never felt this way about a girl before.
But when duty and love are both on the line, which one will Damien choose?

I rarely rate books at 1 star, and when I do I always feel guilty. If I had to pick though I would have to guess it would be a book from my course since I didn’t choose it myself – but hey I could be wrong and love it.

My pick for this is Ravenswood by Christine Zolendz. I love her, and every male character she’s ever written. Shane from Mad World has my heart forever and always. I’ve been craving paranormal romances recently and she never disappoints with book boyfriends.

They’re DYING to get in…
In the southern swamps of Louisiana, an ominous and foreboding mansion beckons the young and curious tourists. But once they enter Ravenswood, they never return.
And New Yorker Rainey Halerow knows nothing about it…
That is until her grandmother is brutally murdered under her nose and the answers to her mysterious and heinous death lie within the walls of Ravenswood. As the mansion lures her in, Rainey knows one thing is certain: more than death is trapped inside.

Jus Accardo is releasing the final book in the Denazen series (Transcendant, Denazen #4) in 3 days!!!!! I will be purchasing that ASAP! I have been waiting literally YEARSSS for this to exist and I cannot wait!!!! Also…isn’t the cover one of the most stunning things you’ve ever seen???

The boy she’d lost, and finally found again, is not the same boy she remembers. As one of the most powerful Sixes, Kale has changed in ways Dez can’t ignore. He swore he’d never kill, and now he’s out for blood. He swore he’d never harm her, and now he struggles to control his fatal touch. They’ve been to hell and back, over and over, but this time they might not survive the fire. When the truth at the root of the Denazen Corporation’s origins begins to unfold, those behind the scenes will do anything to keep it hidden. Dez and Kale will be pushed to their breaking point. As long buried secrets come to light, they must fight for their freedom—and each other—as they never have before. Kale’s destructive power could win the battle, if he doesn’t lose himself to it in the process. Or Dez will be faced with an impossible task—saving the world from the boy she loves.

Iron to Iron (Wolf by Wolf #1.5) by Ryan Graudin. I feel like this is kind of cheating cause I already know I want to read the next book but I know once I read Iron to Iron the desire will only intensify tenfold. Plus it’s from Luka’s POV and I love Luka, hence it would leave me craving more of him.

Once upon a different time, there was a boy who raced through a kingdom of death.”
Sixteen-year-old Luka Lowe has one goal in mind: Win the 1955 Axis Tour and become the first Double Cross victor. If he can accomplish that, maybe his father will finally see him as a worthy son. He’s completed the grueling trek from Germania to Tokyo before, but this time is different. Luka never expected to meet Adele Wolfe, another racer posing as her twin brother and with a singular dream–to live life on her own terms.
When Luka and Adele form an alliance, an unlikely bond forms, and even possibly love. But only one person can win the Axis Tour….Can everything Luka and Adele built together survive the race?

I Tag:

anyone who wants to feel free to. I always feel odd tagging specific people when I myself have not been tagged so if you’re reading this and you want to do it – consider yourself tagged.

That’s all for today’s post. Enjoy your Friday night 🙂

  1. It’s true that it’s hard to foresee your next 1 star read… It’s almost like saying that we’re going to be picking up a book that we know we’ll hate hahah Nice to see Iron to Iron here! I was curious about the first book when it was first released but never got around to it.

  2. Thank you so much for doing the tag!! I hadn’t heard of a decent amount of your answers, but dear gosh, Ravenswood sounds amazing!!! I’m adding this to my TBR instantly – especially after what you said about the author. I know Ryan Graudin can write some pretty intense and action-packed things, so I definitely think you might be in hangover mode. Thanks again, and great answers! 🙂
