March Wrap Up 2020

Hiya,

I would ask how your day is going but it’s probably about the same as everyone else’s, chilled out in isolation feeling like your doing lots and yet nothing comes of it. Hence, why I’m writing this, to break up my monotony. I can’t believe that’s March over already though. I’m adding a few new things for this one cause I’ve been reading a lot of other Wrap Up’s recently (They are some of the best posts to come out of the book blogging community in my humble opinion) and kind of picking and choosing the bits I like the sound of. I can’t remember where they all come from so if it’s something that you do tell me below and I’ll credit you cause I definitely did not come up with all of these. I got the idea for the reading breakdown from Lashaan from Bookidote then adapted it to fit me.

Reading Breakdown:

Books I planned to Read: 8
Books I Read: 4
Books I Read that weren’t on my TBR: 0

Read:

The Island of Doctor Moreau by H.G. Wells – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Quarry Wood by Nan Shephard – ⭐
The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Quicksand by Nella Larson – ⭐⭐⭐

Currently Reading:

I should probably give up on this but haven’t yet is Obscured by C.M Boers. I read this a couple of years ago when it was sent to me to review, however, looking back I don’ think I gave it a very fair review so I am rereading it to see whether I still agree. I started this months ago, but it’s got supernatural/fantasy elements and I haven’t been in the mood for that recently so I haven’t wanted to pick it back up, even though I am sitting at about 70%. I picked it up again to give it another shot…now I’m at 72%. I’ve just not been in the mood for this recently.

Abby Martin thought she was an ordinary girl about to start high school. But when her mom announces that they’re moving to Arizona, vivid nightmares start plaguing Abby’s nights. As she settles into her new school and a cute guy named Pete catches her eye, she hopes that life might somehow get back to normal. To Abby’s horror, “normal” becomes a thing of the past as she’s swept up into a world of immortal protectors wielding supernatural gifts. When Abby realizes she’s a pawn in a centuries-old feud, she must figure out who she can trust before she’s caught in the crossfire. Prepare yourself for heart-pounding suspense in the world of Obscured, where nothing is as it seems and danger lurks in unexpected places.

Music Faves:

I have been listening to a whole bunch of random stuff this month. A good ol’ mix so I’m sure you guys will find something you like.

TV/Movie Faves:

Youtube Faves:

Hyrum Skincare – I have been obsessing with skincare recently and I love his reacts series! It’s so informative and funny.
2SetViolin – I love music…if you couldn’t tell from above. And I definitely have a soft spot for Classical Music. Also, Brett and Eddy are adorable and I love how dramatic and devoted they are. There version of Charades is hilarious and amazing!
Lil’simsie – I’ve been having a sims obsession and she is great. I love her renovations with EA’s restrictions. So good!

Favourite Blog Post of the Month:

Blogging and Me – Our Toxic Relationship by May from My First Chapter. This was posted on the 9th of March and just blew me away. I never knew that anyone else felt similarly to myself when it came to blogging and to read the comments and see that everyone feels similarly was just great. We need more of these kinds of posts because I think they bring us together as a community. The comments of that post are filled with such love and support for blogging, for our book community and just for each otehr in general. 1000% check it out!

Favourite Thing This Month:

As I mentioned above, I have been loving Skincare. Especially the brand Clarol. It helps reduce Sebum and has fixed my acne like nothing else. I have been trying for years to get rid of it and bam! I have tried so much to solve it but nothing works like this!
Also mentioned above is my current obsession for sims. Especially the new Tiny Living Stuff pack for Sims 4. I love it – and it’s currently only £10 I think so if your interesting check that out too.
Lastly, I have never been a wine person, but I found one when I was at a ball this month that I adore. It’s called the Straw Hat. It’s pretty cheap but v finicky – you have to have it at just the right temperature or it tastes like acid hahaha.

So that’s it for this month’s wrap up. I hope you enjoyed this and that the month wasn’t too tough ❤ See you tomorrow 🙂
