My Monthly Anticipations – April 2020

Hi guys,

I’m super excited to write this post. I started it last month and I really liked doing it. I want to hear your opinions on it below – what things are you most excited for this month? So without further ado, let’s give this post a shot.

Book Releases:

The Best Mistake by Cookie O’Gorman.
Honor Tierney just wants one night with the playboy.
One hot, steamy, meaningless hookup, and then she’ll happily go back to reading her favorite books, studying to be an accountant and writing for the campus-paper-nobody-reads. Too bad she ends up in the wrong bed, with the wrong brother…who gives her the hottest night of her life.
Archer O’Brien just wants to play ball.
Well that, and for his brothers to stop acting out, so he won’t have to worry 24/7. As the oldest O’Brien and team captain, it’s his duty to make sure they don’t drink too much, party too much, or get in too much trouble. But when she walks into his bedroom—mistaking him for his brother—life throws him a curveball.
She’s determined to guard her heart. He’s not giving up.
And when Honor gets assigned to cover the Wolves baseball team, it’s game on.

So This is Love by Elizabeth Lim
What if Cinderella never tried on the glass slipper? Unable to prove that she’s the missing princess, and unable to bear life under Lady Tremaine any longer, Cinderella attempts a fresh start, looking for work at the palace as a seamstress. But when the Grand Duke appoints her to serve under the king’s visiting sister, Cinderella becomes witness to a grand conspiracy to take the king-and the prince-out of power, as well as a longstanding prejudice against fairies, including Cinderella’s own Fairy Godmother. Faced with questions of love and loyalty to the kingdom, Cinderella must find a way to stop the villains of past and present . . . before it’s too late.

What I Like About You by Marisa Kanter
Can a love triangle have only two people in it? Online, it can… but in the real world, it’s more complicated. In this debut novel Marisa Kanter explores what happens when internet friends turn into IRL crushes. There are a million things that Halle Levitt likes about her online best friend, Nash. He’s an incredibly talented graphic novelist. He loves books almost as much as she does. And she never has to deal with the awkwardness of seeing him in real life. They can talk about anything…Except who she really is. Because online, Halle isn’t Halle—she’s Kels, the enigmatically cool creator of One True Pastry, a YA book blog that pairs epic custom cupcakes with covers and reviews. Kels has everything Halle doesn’t: friends, a growing platform, tons of confidence, and Nash. That is, until Halle arrives to spend senior year in Gramps’s small town and finds herself face-to-face with real, human, not-behind-a-screen Nash. Nash, who is somehow everywhere she goes—in her classes, at the bakery, even at synagogue. Nash who has no idea she’s actually Kels. If Halle tells him who she is, it will ruin the non-awkward magic of their digital friendship. Not telling him though, means it can never be anything more. Because while she starts to fall for Nash as Halle…he’s in love with Kels.

The Perfect Escape by Suzanne Park
Nate Jae-Woo Kim wants to be rich. When one of his classmates offers Nate a ridiculous amount of money to commit grade fraud, he knows that taking the windfall would help support his prideful Korean family, but is compromising his integrity worth it? Luck comes in the form of Kate Anderson, Nate’s colleague at the zombie-themed escape room where he works. She approaches Nate with a plan: a local tech company is hosting a weekend-long survivalist competition with a huge cash prize. It could solve all of Nate’s problems, and Kate needs the money too. If the two of them team up, Nate has a true shot at winning the grand prize. But the real challenge? Making through the weekend with his heart intact…

TV Show Releases:

  1. Never Have I Ever – Season 1
  2. Bull – Season 4 (The last few episodes of the season)
I didn’t know this was out so now I have some catching up to do.
  3. The 100 (Season 6)
This is another thing I didn’t know was out and I will have to catch up with.

Movie Releases:

  1. Angel has Fallen – (Netflix Release)

I’m not much of a movie person and this is the only thing I really can see at the moment that I’m interested in seeing.

Music Releases:

  1. All Time Low – Wake Up Sunshine

Unfortunately I only have one album that I’m excited for this month, but maybe next month will have more releases I’m excited for.

Personal Life:

Not much in the way of things this month since Lockdown is kinda a thing. I’ve moved home for the summer so I can isolate with my family. The one thing I am excited for is that it’s camp NaNoWriMo this month and I am trying to edit/finish a YA romance novel I started years ago. It’s kinda like a homage to my high school life but heavily dramatised cause otherwise it would be a bit boring but anyway, I’m really enjoying writing it. If any of you are doing NaNoWriMo I want to know what you are writing!

I hope you liked this post cause I quite enjoyed writing it! Anything you are excited for this month? Tell me below! Have a great day and see you tomorrow 🙂
