Hi guys,
Today’s post might be a little shorter than usual as I’ve noticed that because of Corona a lot of releases that were set to release now have been postponed or all out cancelled so this is a kind of weird one where I can’t find out whether they are still on or not. So just a warning about that. Anyway, I hope you enjoy. If there is anything you’re looking for this month tell me below cause I’m always looking for new things to do this month.
Book Releases:

Chasing Lucky by Jenn Bennett – I am a die-hard fan of Jenn Bennett I have adored every book I’ve ever read by her. So I cannot wait till this is out…I have heard it’s been moved though.
Budding photographer Josie Saint-Martin has spent half her life with her single mother, moving from city to city. When they return to her historical New England hometown years later to run the family bookstore, Josie knows it’s not forever. Her dreams are on the opposite coast, and she has a plan to get there. What she doesn’t plan for is a run-in with the town bad boy, Lucky Karras. Outsider, rebel…and her former childhood best friend. Lucky makes it clear he wants nothing to do with the newly returned Josie. But everything changes after a disastrous pool party, and a poorly executed act of revenge lands Josie in some big-time trouble—with Lucky unexpectedly taking the blame. Determined to understand why Lucky was so quick to cover for her, Josie discovers that both of them have changed, and that the good boy she once knew now has a dark sense of humor and a smile that makes her heart race. And maybe, just maybe, he’s not quite the brooding bad boy everyone thinks he is…

The Betrothed by Kiera Cass – I’ve never read the selection series but when I heard it was coming to netflix, and that she had this new unrelated release out I thought I’d give this a shot.
When King Jameson declares his love for Lady Hollis Brite, Hollis is shocked—and thrilled. After all, she’s grown up at Keresken Castle, vying for the king’s attention alongside other daughters of the nobility. Capturing his heart is a dream come true. But Hollis soon realizes that falling in love with a king and being crowned queen may not be the happily ever after she thought it would be. And when she meets a commoner with the mysterious power to see right into her heart, she finds that the future she really wants is one that she never thought to imagine.

By the Book by Amanda Sellet – This just sounded so sweet. Like a wholesome romance and if you know me then you know I cannot say no to a wholesome romance.
As a devotee of classic novels, Mary Porter-Malcolm knows all about Mistakes That Have Been Made, especially by impressionable young women. So when a girl at her new high school nearly succumbs to the wiles of a notorious cad, Mary starts compiling the Scoundrel Survival Guide, a rundown of literary types to be avoided at all costs.Unfortunately, Mary is better at dishing out advice than taking it—and the number one bad boy on her list is terribly debonair. As her best intentions go up in flames, Mary discovers life doesn’t follow the same rules as fiction. If she wants a happy ending IRL, she’ll have to write it herself.

House of Dragons by Jessica Cluess – this is a little different to my typical kind of book…but it sounded too incredible to not inclued! I haven’t heard much talk about this which I don’t understand cause the blurb took my breath away! Also gives me serious Game of Thrones vibes!
Five royal houses will hear the call to compete in the Trial for the dragon throne. A liar, a soldier, a servant, a thief, and a murderer will answer it. Who will win? When the Emperor dies, the five royal houses of Etrusia attend the Call, where one of their own will be selected to compete for the throne. It is always the oldest child, the one who has been preparing for years to compete in the Trial. But this year is different. This year, these five outcasts will answer the call….
THE LIAR: Emilia must hide her dark magic or be put to death.
THE SOLDIER: Lucian is a warrior who has sworn to never lift a sword again.
THE SERVANT: Vespir is a dragon trainer whose skills alone will keep her in the game.
THE THIEF: Ajax knows that nothing is free–he must take what he wants.
THE MURDERER: Hyperia was born to rule and will stop at nothing to take her throne.
TV Show Releases:
- The Flash (Season 6) – I adore Grant Gustin, he can do no wrong in my eyes ❤
- The Great British Sewing Bee (Season 6) – Technically, this started last month but I will be watching it all this month so I am counting it.
- Van Der Valk – (2020 Remake) I watched the first one of this last night and was hooked, there’s only two more in the series so it won’t last very long.
Movie Releases:
I’m not much of a movie person so there wasn’t anything that grabbed my attention sadly. If you have any recommendations I’m happy to give them a try!
Music Releases:
- Norah Jones – Pick Me Up Off the Floor
- One Republic – Human
Personal Life:
Not much in the way of things this month since Lockdown is still going strong in the UK. I don’t leave the house except to go on walks – so going on walks is what I’m excited for this month. I’m also excited for the rapeseed to be harvested from the field outside my house cause hayfever is still hitting me hard!
Anything you are excited for this month? Tell me below! Have a great day and see you tomorrow 🙂

Ohh, I spy some nice new May releases on your list. I am still a bit curious about Kiera Cass, but given how meh the last books in the Selection series were… not sure. By The Book sounds like a book I need to add to my list. 🙂 I hope you enjoy your May books!

The first 3 were OK-ish (though not a fan of the love triangle), but the last two featured a new girl and boy she was annoying. I hope we both enjoy The Betrothed, I could use a new Kiera Cass to love. Thank you! 😘
