Stuck at Home Tag + 500 Followers!!

Let’s get this first big news out of the way! I hit 500 Followers ahhh!! Thank you all so much for staying and reading my rambles! Not too sound like a cliche but I love you all so much and I’m so honoured you take the time to stop in and say hi! You make an awkward Scottish girl very very happy. ❤

Now enough with the sappy stuff and onto the tag! This tag has been on my to do list for nearly a month now so I’m sorry it took so long for me to get to it. Some people probably aren’t stuck at home anymore, but I still am so it counts. I was tagged to do this by the lovely LaRonda from FlyingPaperbacks, so a big thanks to her! A Book You’ve Been Meaning to Read for Forever

Shiver by Maggie Stievfater has been on my Goodreads TBR shelf since Spetember 21st 2016…and I’ve still not picked it up ahah. If that’s not the definition of Forever then I don’t know what is.

An Intimidating Book on Your TBR

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon is not only one of the longest books on my TBR (which is hella intimidating to me) but after having seen the TV show I know it doesn’t shy away from the gory parts of history and I’m not a fan of gore so that’s definitely intimidating too.

Top 3 Priority Books on Your TBR

I’m taking the same view a LaRonda and saying that this means the three books you definitely want to get to by the end of the year.

Firstly, Scorched by Joss Stirling. This was actually on my TBR for this month but I don’t know if I’ll have a chance to get to it.
Next is Blood for Blood by Ryan Graudin because I keep putting it off in an attempt to not have the series end haha.
Lastly, is Obscured by C.M Boers. I started rereading this last year because I thought I might have under reviewed it. So I decided to reread it. I hadn’t been wrong the first time round, but I am determined to get it done and not leave it 75% read.

Recommend a Short Book

I have three faves for this because I really am a sucker for shorter books. My favourite length of book is between 250 and 350. I just prefer reading multiple short books to the one massive one. Anyway,

Firstly, The Island of Doctor Moreau by H.G Wells. Very different to my typical read but just as great.
Next is Once and Then by Morris Glitzman. I remember this just being utterly mind blowing. Really recommend. Review here.
I also love Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. This book made me want to be a better human which is a lot for a book to be able to do. Just great. Review here.
Lastly, The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin. I just read this recently and it already shot up my list. It was a great mystery and the characters were amazing too. Review here.

Recommend a Long Book

Joined by Mara Gan has been my favourite 500 plus page read. I am really not a fan of long books. I much rather read two 250 page books instead but this was so amazing that I didn’t mind. Plus I read it on my kindle which really helped the scariness of its size. Review here.

Something You’d Love to Do While Stuck at Home

Currently my favourite things to be doing are baking (I’m trying my hand at complicated desserts because the risk of it being horrible is half the fun!) I’ve also been working on some new WIP’s so that’s been great. I’ve also been reading a lot as per. I’ve also been loving helping home school my brother. Oh! And binge watching Criminal Minds – I just started season 4 this morning!

What Do You Plan on Reading Next?

I think my next read will be Altered Helix by Stephanie Hansen. But I’m not sure. It could be Scorched depending on how much time I spend watching criminal minds today haha. I have to say, the cover of Altered Helix is really winning me over ❤
