Snowed In Review

Hey guys,
I know I have been doing a review overload this month – never again will I get click happy on Netgalley! Just like my review on Monday, this might be a little shorter than usual because I did a pretty in depth review on Goodreads (at least more in depth than my Goodreads reviews usually are) so I thought I would just add to it a little rather than doing all of my different categories for this one.
Anyway, I was very very kindly gifted this in exchange for an honest review on NetGalley. As always this will not sway my opinion on the book whatsoever, as always my thoughts are all my own.
Now that that’s out of the way let’s hop into my review.

Finished – This was really great. It was hilarious. I got a stitch at multiple points. The characters were super likeable. Ella and Ben were just WOW to read, they had such an amazing relationship – with so many realistic ups and downs. The dual POV’s just made it so great to read so you saw both perspectives. The way Ben’s fame was written was amazing, showing every side of stardom and the measures of how they had to deal with it. I loved the strong sense of family in the book and obviously adored all the puppy action! I loved that it tackled difficult topics in a really great way and went into things I didn’t expect it too. The setting of the Maine and the snow was beautiful; I love forests and mountain settings so I was completely enthralled by that. The plot wasn’t predictable, but it also wasn’t very intriguing but it was still very interesting. I never felt on the edge of my seat but I never felt bored. It just swept you along at a gentle pace so it was super relaxing to read. My main gripe with the book is that it used a lot of technical medical terms which made me feel distanced from the characters. It also broke the flow of the plot somewhat. Overall it was a nice quick romance to read and I definitely recommend checking it out.

Maybe I could still say something. Work up my courage and slip my attraction to him into conversation somehow. I decided to practice. “Why, yes, this paint color turned out quite nice. Have you thought about putting the couch over here instead? I sometimes think about you naked, but I’m getting better at suppressing.” Super casual. Definitely not at all creepy.
He stepped closer to hold it steady, his chest pressing against my back, his – PENIS. HIS PENIS WAS TOUCHING MY LEFT BUTT CHEEK.
Get ahold of yourself, woman ! my brain shouted. Heh. I’d rather get ahold of him, my libido answered.
“I’m telling you I want to be here for you. Now. That I want to be with you. Now. That I want to help you through this. That doesn’t mean I want to get married and have your babies. I’m twenty-three. I don’t even know if I want children. Literally anything could happen between us. We might be great for a solid two years and then not be able to get over our communication problems and break up. Or five years and fall out of love. There might be a nuclear apocalypse. Mother nature might finally say “ENOUGH!”, and decide to murder all of us.”

I really liked this read. It was probably the book that has made me laugh most this year. It was let down a little by the over-complicated terms. It also lacked a bit of drama.
