My Bullet Journals – July 2020 Spreads

Hi guys!

I hope you have all had a great week! Like I said in Yesterday’s post I am currently pre-writing quite a few posts as I am going away with my family for a few days so if this is a little shorter than normal I am sorry. These have quickly become some of my favourite posts to do, not only because I am loving bullet journalling and joining a new community but because it’s amazing to hear what everyone else has done for their theme. It is so personal and tailored to you that it’s just amazing! Like AHH I cannot recommend Bullet Journaling enough!! Plus, I love showing off my spreads because it inspires me to create more interesting themes every time! This month I liked the theme of my blogging bullet journal more than my personal ones’ theme – however I sadly didn’t get to use it very much because of my reading slump.

A little backstory in case you haven’t seen my other bullet journaling posts. I started my bullet journals in January this year and I have no idea how I coped without it before. I am very new to it and most definitely still in need of improvement. While most people’s bullet journals cover every aspect of their lives – from daily planning to habit tracking etc. But I like having two separate ones, one for that kind of thing and then one for all my bookish things. Keeping them separate has really helped me keep my school work and my blog stuff organised. My love for bullet journalling just keeps growing and I really recommend it to anyone who is ever been interested in trying it out. I love looking at different spread ideas on Pinterest and Instagram too.

I’m just going to ramble through my spreads and if you guys have any ideas on how I can improve it or spreads I should add please give me suggestions, cause like I said I’m still getting into this.

P.s this month I worked out how to get the watermark off my camera – PRAISE THE HEAVENS! So you don’t have to deal with that disrupting my beautiful beautiful pictures anymore hehe.
P.p.s I also changed the location in which I take my photos so please tell me if you like these more than last time ❤

Blogging Bullet Journal:

As per usual – This is my bullet journal. It’s a very pretty Teal colour, and also nice and plain. I bought it on Amazon for £8.99. It’s an A5 Dotted Notebook by Stationary Island. It has 180 pages at 120 gsm. I adore the quality and if you’re interested in getting into BuJo-ing but you don’t want to fully commit to all of the snazzy equipment that the professionals use. I just use Black Uni-ball eye pens to write everything (cause they’re my favourite pen to write with), and then my Stabilo pastel highlighters for decorational bits and pieces. I’ve also recently invested in two Tombow Markers (Black N15 and Cool Grey 3 N75) I really like them so far, except the writing has basically completely rubbed off the barrel and I have only had them a month. It’s annoying but doesn’t affect the quality of the actual marker. I really want to buy myself the pastel set because they look beautiful. While the Tombow markers are more expensive they certainly are nowhere near the most expensive on the market and I feel like they are a nice addition to my highlighters. I also bought a Uni-Ball Signo white gel pen to cover up my mistakes – this is my new lifesaver but it does take a while to dry and can be a little patchy sometimes.

This is the first page. I always show this page and it doesn’t change much- except for the small goals section that obviously changes every month. Although it didn’t change this month because I didn’t read anything and therefore my goals didn’t update. It just has all my blogging details, in case I lose it…or maybe cause I feel fancy writing down like it’s important information. On the other side of the page is my key to decipher my notes pages from months past, plus it helps to keep a nice cohesive theme between all of my monthly spreads.

The theme I chose for this month was Watermelon. I liked that this was a bit more of a simplistic design rather than my often jumbled previous themes. I also am super proud of my calligraphy for the title! I have never written anything so well in my life. I changed the way I organised my reading goals page this month however. Rather than the books that I colour coded once I finished it which was my old design, I decided to have a stack of books with the titles on the spine and space to add my stars once I have read them. Obviously, this month isn’t the best example of this because I didn’t read anything. But I have done it again for my August spread because I really like the look of it more than the old design.

As I have said for the past few months, I have been really great at sticking to my schedule this year, and it is definitely down to my bullet journalling. I got through most of the ideas on my list this month and didn’t have many moved to August, so it was great that I got so much done. It makes it look like I was far more productive than I was.

This is my second month of having a calendar page and despite having not read I really loved having it still for when I was initially planning out when I was going to read things. Like I’ve said recently, the anticipations page isn’t really necessary and I have gotten rid of it in my September design (which I am currently working on).

This next page is my book purchasing pages, both physical and e-book. It looks so sad compared to last month where it was bursting at the seams because it was so long. I always feel bad when I leave a spread this bare because it feels like such a waste of space and paper.

Next is the books I want to buy, as well as a Stats Tracker. I also liked having my Books I want to buy spread but and I have it in my August spread, but I think I am ditching it for my September one because I don’t really use it and it feels like a waste of space. The stats tracker, however, is still my favourite spread in this bullet journal. It motivates me to keep my bullet journal up to date and helps me from falling behind. Plus it’s so nice to see my improvement over the month – also which posts you guys liked and the ones you maybe didn’t like as much. So I would definitely recommend adding this spread to your bullet journal if you have one. The only thing that irritates me about it is I have to try and predict how my month will go stats-wise. I settled on each square being 4, which makes it easy to split up the boxes into halves and quarters. After having used this scale now for a couple of months I definitely say I will be keeping it like this for the time being as it really fits the place my blog is at at the moment.

My monthly wrap up spread is always a godsend! Without it, I would never remember half the things I have been loving throughout the month. Rather than just having my usual other section I have separated it more into Youtube favourites, blogging favourites and the a smaller other section at the bottom. I have kept this up as I like it a lot more.
Like I said at the start, I loved this theme and I am sad I didn’t use this as much as I had used in previous months. I will definitely be keeping up the more simplistic spread designs however.

Personal Bullet Journal:

I use the exact same stuff in this bullet journal as I do in my blue one. It’s even the same book – just in pink. Again, all bought from Amazon and all the links to the stuff is up at the top. The first page is the same as my bullet journalling one, except with no goals section because I’ve incorporated that more into the journal itself.

The first page has my yearly book goals – and I colour them in as I go. It’s just a nice way to see your yearly progress. After managing to catch up on my yearly goal in June, I have once again fallen behind so no update to this spread this month. The other page is my bucket list. I haven’t added any to it this month, but I hope to next month. I thought it was a cute spread to include but I don’t use it often.

So this is my Title and Goals page for July. Like I said at the start, this wasn’t my favourite theme but I still like it. I was really inspired to use my new grey tombow and just the black ink. I thought the monochromatic look would be really stylish and interesting but truth be told I got a little bored of it by the end of the month. I guess I am just a bit more of a colourful gal! I got this idea from Pinterest like most of my ideas and the only way I could really describe it was simple forest. I went far more specific with my goals this month and I think I manged to get them done well – obviously I didn’t manage them all – but I was far closer than last month.

This is my monthly calendar and my notes page. I downsized this spread in June and I loved having it a bit smaller, so I continued this. I only had a couple of notes this month, being TV show recommendations that I need to get to.

This is my habit tracker and Exercise tracker spread. And easily my favourite part of my bullet journal. It’s so interesting to see what I manage over the month. I’ve really been wanting to lose weight, hence why I’m giving so much space to exercise compared to my other habits. I love the way I structure/organise my trackers and I know I will not be changing this, I may change the things I track obviously. I had a smaller amount of things in my tracker this month but I still really liked it and it covered all of the things I felt were most important.

I changed up my weekly planner. Again, I only need to show one since they’re all laid out identically. It’s super easy to make daily to-do-lists which is basically all I use the weekly’s for. I didn’t need the same amount of space at the moment with it just being the summer holidays. I love that it looks so full, which makes my days feel less dull and repetitive. I have continued this into August but I might have to add more in September for when Uni reopens.

The last spread which is a new addition this month was my Camp NaNoWriMo tracker. It was kind of a coincidental spread. With my new weekly spreads it left me with one have of a double spread filled and an empty page to use. So I decided to turn it into a Camp NaNoWriMo writing tracker. It gave me motivation to write daily to know that I had to come in and put evidence of exactly how much I wrote. I have kept it in for August, despite it not being NaNo anymore because I enjoyed it so much.

Anyway, that’s the end of this post. I hope you liked this again, I really love writing them and showcasing what I’ve done. I’m glad you guys asked to see both bullet journals because although I keep them separate I love having both and if I combined them it would be longest months ever haha. Plus this way I get to pick two different themes. That’s all for this post, have a good day guys!

    1. Thank you so much! I will definitely keep taking my photos there then 🤗
I definitely like the simplicity of the monochromatic forest more and I’ve tried to go for some more similar simple themes in future months
