October Wrap Up 2020

Hi guys!

I hope your week has been going well. Mine has not. The essay I have been working on for one of my classes has been kicking my ass! I have never struggled with an essay this much in my life. I can’t wait until it’s over.
So, to cheer me up I thought I would do my October Wrap up because these are my favourite kinds of posts to do. Plus, you guys seem to enjoy them too. So let’s get started shall we?…

Currently Reading:

I am currently still reading Murder at the Dolphin Hotel by Helena Dixon just because as you can see I was drowning in books for my uni course this month and didn’t have the time to read many books that were of my own choosing. I don’t know if I will get to it next month but I would like to.

Music Faves:

I broke my music slump this month and really got back into the groove of listening to new stuff (or stuff that is at least new to me) I hope you find something that you might like. As per, it is a random mix of genres and styles.

TV/Movie Faves:

I didn’t really watch as much tv as usual for me this month. Uni has taken over most of my life and I’ve started a lot of long run tv programs rather than bingeing shows so it’s taking me longer to get through them because I have to wait until they air each week instead.

Fushigi Yuugi – ⭐⭐⭐ (I haven’t finished this so no spoilers please <3)
Waltz with Bashir – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Friends – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Rewatch)
Always Sunny in Philadelphia – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Rewatch)
Taskmaster (Season 10) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Great British Bake off (Season 11) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Strictly Come Dancing 2020 – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Youtube Faves:

I have been loving a few different youtubers this month. Most of them I watched before but have been rewatching a lot this month such as – Dangerously Funny, Blitz, Mr Beast, Dream and The Try Guys. But the channel that I found this month that blew me away is Bailey Sarian. She does Makeup and Murder Mystery Mondays where she does her makeup while taking about a murder mystery (that is normally a solved case which is nice cause you get a resolution) and it is so interesting and relaxing and as a murder mystery addict I love the concept! Highly highly recommend!

Favourite Blog Post of the Month:

Not to blow my own trumpet but there were a few posts of my own that I enjoyed this month – first being my BuJo flip through for September because as per usual I adore doing these and they have quickly become a new favourite kind of post of mine and I want to do more BuJo content next month. Then I was really proud of my Tips for Writer’s Block post the other day because I love doing tip posts too! Plus it got such great interaction from you guys so I am so glad you liked it too ❤

I haven’t had much time to read many other blogs this month sadly because of trying to balance my uni and blogging life but I did see a post a week or so ago that made me smile. I was looking for help on deciding to do NaNoWriMo this year or not and I stumbled across this blog and fell in love. Kenzie at Smudged Thoughts is amazing. Trust me, read the opening of any one of her posts and you will agree. It just puts a smile on your face – which I was definitely in need of this month. It is bookish and amazing and exactly what I needed!

Favourite Thing This Month:

I decided to try learn guitar this month…Why, you ask? Because I had a phase where I was missing my performing days and wanted to reclaim it a little. I learnt very basic chords and really just used it to accompany my singing but I really enjoyed learning the basics.
Another thing I loved this month was being back at home. With all the stress of uni I decided to move back home for a few reasons but it has been such a help on my stress levels to have a good support network around me. I would be crying in a corner if not for my friends and family so BIG THANKS to them for putting up with me ❤
I am still trying to knit – and I managed to rope my mum into helping so I could finish my blanket quicker.
I am also still on my french duolingo streak – 103 days now!! I am so proud of myself and although I am not seeing any change in my speaking, my reading and my vocab has greatly improved. It’s really rewarding to see my improvement.

So that’s it for this month’s wrap up. I hope you enjoyed this and that you are all safe and healthy ❤ And I hope you have a great weekend and this month was good to you!

What have you been up to this month?
What was the best book you read?
What are you most excited for in November?

  1. Wonderful wrap-up, May! Good luck with your essay, I’m sure it will be really good in the end. Some good music choices there – The Killers are my favourite band and Amy McDonald is great too. And so exciting to hear you are learning the guitar! Have a lovely November 💛

  2. It’s so cool that you’re learning guitar! I also taught myself basic chords and strumming patterns, and I agree, it’s such a nice way to relax! Best of luck with that essay, I’m sure you’re gonna kill it! 😊💪
