Blogger Award

Hey guys!

Happy Friday! How has your day been? Mine has been great because I had a really massive essay due and I finally finished it and sent it in so I feel a huge weight off of my shoulders. It’s also my Gran’s Birthday so it will be great to celebrate that even if it is socially distanced through a window.
Anyway, today’s blog post is a Blogging Award and a massive thank you to IdleEmma from Rambles by the Puddleside for nominating me for this award. I love her content, she does a really great mix of stuff and I just love the way she writes. She did two different blogger awards in her post so I don’t know the exact name of the one I was nominated for but either way I get to answer some fun questions! So enough rambling, let me answer some Q’s!

1. How are you?

Aww I love this question! As amazing as this blogging community is, I do feel like we don’t ask each other how we are doing often because we have so many other fun things to chat about so it made my day to see it being asked.
Like I said at the start of my post I am very happy today because I got that essay out of the way and don’t really have much more course work due for a few weeks so it’s nice to get a little bit of a break. The killer migranes that were wrecking my life recently have stopped because I came off the medication that was causing them so that is amazing and although I’m back into a lockdown which isn’t great, I am with my family so I know I am super lucky that way. So thanks for asking!

 2. What’s your hot beverage of choice?

If we are talking normal people hot drinks then Hot Chocolate – which I love. But, something hot that I typically drink more of is manuka honey, lemon juice and hot water because I get some terrible sore throats and that always helps plus it tastes so good!

 3. Do you have a favourite breed of cat?

I wouldn’t say off the top of my head I have a favourite breed of cat. I like shorthaired ones (Britsh shorthair especially) or ones that don’t shed because my mum is really allergic and I can get a little bit of allergies myself too. I like cats but I wouldn’t ever get one I don’t think because I couldn’t deal with the ‘presents’ haha

 4. Is there a book to movie adaption where you actually prefer the movie?

There is actually quite a few I prefer. I hate J.K Rowling’s writing style so I love the Harry Potter films because it is all greatness of the books but without her crap writing (don’t come for me please haha) I feel similarly about the Hunger Games films as I DNF’ed the first book in the series but enjoyed some of the movies. And although technically not a movie, but I adore the British TV version of Pride and Prejudice and although I also love the book Colin Firth just takes it to a new level of love.

 5. Do you like to snack while reading or keep food away from your books?

I have snacked and read but typically I don’t just because I get far too engrossed to focus on eating and reading haha. I suck at multitasking.

 6. What’s your favourite video game?

I really like video games so this is super hard. I’ve probably played Sims the most in my life since I adored it since age 7. But recently I have been playing a lot of Stardew Valley, Civilisation 6 and Cities: Skylines. Plus the classics like Minecraft, Call of Duty and loads of Wii games are all amazing too!

 6. What’s your favourite stationery item? Notebooks? Sticky notes? Pens?

I am drowning in all of those things, mainly notebooks. But I have to say that pens are my favourite. All the different colours, finishes, thicknesses etc. It’s just so fun and versatile and you can do so much. It’s really Bullet Journaling that has given me a new appreciation for pens and I recently got some TomBow ones which I am adoring.

 7. Are you a fan of musicals?

YESS!! I adore them! I always have, for as long as I can remember. Most of the time I am singing or listening to them. I don’t think I could ever choose a favourite but some of my top ones are: Les Mis, Singing in the Rain, Chicago, Be More Chill, Hamilton, Moulin Rouge, Sound of Music, and probably so many more I am forgetting off the top of my head right now.

 8. What’s a hobby you’ve never tried before but really want to give a go?

First one that came into my head was learning the Bass Guitar. I have played a lot of intruments in my life but bass guitar has never been one I picked up so that could be fun. I am really bad for just picking up new hobbies and trying them out so it was hard to think of ones I haven’t tried yet.

 9. What’s your favourite season?

Probably Autumn, as generic and boring as that is. I just love the fashion, the cosiness, the weather and the sense of family that I always get. Plus Halloween and Bonfire Night! It’s just a generally great time.

 10. Pretend it’s not 2020 – if you could go on holiday anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Probably Paris. I have been once before and I definitely did not get to do everything I wanted to so I have been dying to go back for a while. This time I will get longer than 30 mins in the Louvre!!

So that’s all my questions! I don’t really know how to do this end section since I don’t know what award it is so it’s a little difficult to pass on but I thought because I loved these questions so much why don’t I just pass them on (thanks for the great questions Emma) and I won’t nominate anyone in specifics because it feels like cheating so if you love these questions like I did or if you need a blog post idea definitely take these, or if you just want to answer them in the comments below feel free to because I always want to hear your guy’s answers to stuff! Anyway, I hope you have a fabulous day and I will see you on Sunday ❤

  1. My bad! Should have said which it was a nomination for, which was for both. Ooops! I loved reading your answers though and glad you had fun with them.
Congrats on finishing your essay (always a relief when those get finished!) and yay for no migraines because those suck! Also, I approve of your hot beverage of choice – nothing beats a hot honey and lemon drink when your throat hurts, I love them and I don’t even like honey most of the time.
I love asking people if they prefer the movie to the book because I feel like in the book community it can almost be sacrilege to not love the book more.

    1. Aww that makes sense, i think I was just in a mentally slow mood yesterday when I wrote these cause that makes perfect sense today 😂😂 thank you so much! I do add honey to most things because i love it so it’s only natural for me to add it to my throat. I think i actually like movies more often than the book which definitely isnt the norm for the community

  2. Congrats on finally finishing that essay! 🎉🎉 And I’m so happy you also love musicals! (That answer made it a little easier to swallow my horror at your answer to the fourth question 😂😂😂).

    1. Thanks!! What are some of your favourite musicals? I didnt like J.k’s writing because it is really childish and i didnt read it as a child so i dont have that nostalgia for the books that most fans had, instead i watched the movies as a kid

      1. Gosh, what a question! I’m sure I’m going to forget so many 😅 But some I really love are Phantom of the Opera, Hamilton, My Fair Lady, Pope Joan, The Lion King, Sound of Music… I am very mainstream in my musical love, as you can see 😁
And I actually love the way J.K. Rowling writes! But to each her own, I guess 😂

  3. Well done on finishing that essay! I’m glad you’ve had a good day 🥰 That first question is really simple, but also wonderful because we don’t really often get round to asking each other how we are (although I do try!). Loved your answers, May. Have a great weekend. 🤗
