My Monthly Anticipations and Goals – February 2021

Hi guys,

How is your day going? Mine has been really busy but that’s my own fault because I didn’t spread my time out very well and spent too much time reading yesterday so I am a little behind on one of my classes but not buy much so hopefully I can catch up.
Anyway, I used to do these posts last year but I felt that they were becoming a bit bleh at the end of the year and I wanted to mix it up a bit so I thought I would add some monthly goals to the mix as well in the hopes that will spice this up. If you think they were better before or like this please tell me so I know what you guys like best! I’ll stop rambling now and just jump into what I am excited for this February.

Book Releases:

Murder in the Belltower (Miss Underhay Mystery #5) by Helena Dixon
I have read and REVIEWED the first book in this series and the other 3 are still on my TBR but I really enjoyed it so I know I will definitely pick this up at some point because I am really liking Matthew and Kitty’s story.
Release Date: 1st February
Blurb: Kitty Underhay’s hymn book is open… at murder.
Winter, 1933. Kitty Underhay is enjoying a restorative break from sleuthing on a visit to her family at Enderley Hall. The only thing marring her peace – aside from the uncomfortable sensation she has of being watched – is the obvious history between her beau, ex-army captain Matthew Bryant and another guest, the beautiful Juliet Vanderstafen. So, when the parish clerk is found dead on her front doorstep, Kitty leaps at the chance of distraction.
The police are happy to conclude that Miss Plenderleith met her unfortunate end on a patch of ice, but Kitty isn’t convinced this was a case of bad weather and worse luck. And when the Reverend Crabtree fails to show for tea the next day, she heads to the church to speak to him. But she arrives to find the clergyman hanging from the bell rope, dead.
With Matt seemingly wrapped up with his alluring Austrian, Kitty must solve the case on her own. But as she snoops into parish affairs, she makes some less-than-saintly discoveries. Just who has broken the sixth commandment? Meanwhile the killer is preparing a churchyard grave for Kitty, and she’ll have to use all her wits to avoid falling in…

A Court of Silver Flames (ACOTAR #4) by Sarah J. Maas
I read the ACOTAR series for the first time this weekend and DAMN I fell in love! This is kind of an add on as it doesn’t follow Feyre but her sister Nesta instead so I’m not desperate to read it but I always will probably pick this up at some point.
Release Date: 16th February
Blurb: Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she’s struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can’t seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it. The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre’s Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta’s orbit. But her temper isn’t the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable, and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other. Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts. Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance-and healing-in each other’s arms.

Movies/Tv Releases:

I might need some recommendations for you this time because again I hunted a lot and I could find nothing that really called to me. Either February is not a great month for releases or just not releasing stuff that really calls to me.

Personal Life:

We are still in lockdown in Scotland so there isn’t much I am excited for this month in respects to me doing fun activities. But my University course started at the end of January so that is exciting to get back into a routine even though I have fallen behind slightly.

Goals:

  • I want to read 8 books this month. I am currently smashing that doing great as I have read 5 books so far. I told you my book binge was bad haha.
  • I still have the goal of trying to write 2x a week because I am in a creative writing class at university so I need to keep it up for that.
  • I want to try do some more exercise because I kept it up for a while in January but not as much as I wanted to.
  • I suppose that I also want to get my studies back on track – but that’s not really a goal because I am only one day behind, but you can tell it’s on my mind at the moment.

Sorry this is so short. I just could find no new releases that excite me this month. I would love you to tell me if there was anything that I missed. Anyway, I hope you all have a great day and see you all tomorrow! ❤

What are you most excited about this coming month?
Is there any big releases that I’ve missed?
Do get behind on your studies often or do you always keep on top of things?
