Nimbus

Wednesday’s Word of the Week: Nimbus

Definition: This has a few meanings; but context of the one I found it in was as an indication (such as a circle) of radiant light or glory about the head of a drawn or sculptured divinity, saint, or sovereign.
It is seen a lot in Byzantine or Romanesque art – at least from my knowledge of art history.

Where I Heard It: I was reading The Kings of Kearny by Navessa Allen the other day and it was used and I loved the way it sounded.

Pronunciation: Nim-bus

As always, Stay safe guys!
