Lupercalia

Wednesday’s Word of the Week: Lupercalia

Definition: an Ancient Roman festival that was celebrated on February 15 to purify the city, promoting health and fertility. It is the basis for February being called February as well as ties to Valentine’s Day.

Where I Heard It: I was reading the Kings of Kearny by Navessa Allen and this was mentioned and I had never heard of this and I thought it was really interesting. Plus it’s just a nice word!

Pronunciation: loo-per-ca-lia

As always, Stay safe guys!
