Vainglorious

Wednesday’s Word of the Week: Vainglorious

Definition: excessively proud of oneself or one’s achievements; overly vain.

Where I Heard It: This is yet another word that I learnt from reading The Kings of Kearny by Navessa Allen. I presume it is the origin of the word vain but when I read it I just thought it was so much more interesting. It makes vain sound like a more positive attribute, at least that’s what it makes me think.

Pronunciation: vaeh-nnh-glow-ree-us

As always, Stay safe guys!
