Hi all!
I hope your weekend was good. How has your Monday been going so far? I’ve just spent the morning reading which is nice!
Anyway, today’s post is a It’s Monday, What Are You Reading? post. These have quickly become a monthly occurrence and I don’t think I will be stopping anytime soon because I am really enjoying them. I think they are great because they are a bit like wrap-up but in the middle of the month. It’s when I talk about what I am currently reading, what I just read and what I plan to read. It’s hosted by the Book Date. So I hope you enjoy, let’s get on with it!
What I Read Last Week:
I read a lot last week, I started with reading Collided by Anna Ray which I was sent via Netgalley. It was okay but nothing great. Then I moved onto this month’s read for the Smutty Book Club that I am part of – Lords of Pain by Angel Lawson and Samantha Rue. This was extremely dark, and the names were questionable but overall I enjoyed. Then I read Chasing Starlight by Emily Stormbrook which was another Netgalley read. It wasn’t great, but it was short so it was okay. And then last night I read Bad Saint by Monica James which was AMAZING! The writing in the opening chapters were definitely questionable but once you push through that it gets much better and the action is just amazing!
What I am Reading:
I am currently reading Fallen Saint which is the sequel to Bad Saint because I needed to jump straight into the next one after finishing the first. I am enjoying it but not as much as I did the first. The pacing/action was better in the first and it always felt high-tempo, this feels a little flatter but it is by no means slow.
What I Plan to Read Next:
Next I will probably read the last book in the Bad Saint series, I also hope to read Admonition by Kathryn Amurra, I loved her first novel which she also sent to me Soothsayer, so I definitely want to get to this soon. I also hope to read Realm Breaker by Victoria Aveyard but I’ve not really been in a Fantasy mood recently so we’ll see if I get to it next week or not.
