July TBR 2021

Hi all,

Happy July! I can’t believe we are over half way done with the year already! I had a pretty bad slump in June so I don’t want an ambitious TBR in case it pushes me back into a slump. I still want a little direction though or I won’t pick up anything haha. But when I say my TBR is short – I mean it.

Currently Reading:

Midnight with the Devil by Emma Castle. I picked this up after reading Emma Castle’s Tarzan retelling Love in the Wild and adored it. So far I am liking the premise of this but not as much as I liked love in the wild yet.

He’s sexy as sin and hotter than hell and—oh wait.
What would you do to save a loved one’s life? Make a pact with the Devil?
In Diana Kingston’s defence, it was the middle of the night in the deserted hospital chapel… surely it was just a dream. She hadn’t really sold herself to a brooding stranger to save her father’s life, right? Then she wakes and her father is fully recovered and a mysterious letter arrives from the tall, dark, handsome—um, Devil? Yep, it was right there on the contract, Lucien Star, aka Lucifer Morningstar, that had been his name in the dream… Gulp. What would the Devil himself want with her? Sex. Three months of hot, sweaty, Friday night sex.
Ooookay. Breaking a pact with the Devil doesn’t seem like a smart move. So she’ll do it—but she won’t like it. Not much anyway. But she starts liking it – a lot—and every night they spend together, she likes it and Lucien a little more. Being with him allows her naughty side to come out and play, but Diana starts to see more than just a sexy-as-sin, rock-hard … er…Anyway, he might be Satan, but even he was an angel once. Kind. Noble. And she sees glimpses of that man still inside him… But how in Heaven’s name do you save the Devil from himself?

My Book Club’s Read:

Summer’s Kiss by Angel Lawson. I read Lords of Pain a couple months ago which was co-written by her so I know I don’t mind her writing. It’s an Reverse Haram romance which REALLY isn’t my thing, but I’m willing to give it a shot and see what it’s like.

Summer Barnes is on the run.
From her disastrous senior year of high-school.
From the mountain of secrets she’s been keeping.
She thought she could escape by running to the beach.
That a little bit of sun and sand would soothe her wounded soul.
She has no idea that four local beach bums will be the ones to make it all better.
Is Summer prepared to open her heart or will the past keep her from taking the chance?

That’s my TBR for this month. I told you it was short. Is two books even really a TBR? Either way hopefully this will keep me motivated but also not make me feel like I have to get to them. Anyway, I hope you have a great day and month ahead! ❤ Now for today’s Questions…

What is on your TBR this month?
Are you on track for you’re yearly reading goal if you have one?
Are you a Mood Reader or a Planner?

    1. Oh no! Im sorry to hear that! I was in a slump for over two weeks at the start of June. Ice Planet Barbarians got me out of my slump because it was so different to my usual read. Maybe try that?
