Hey guys,
Happy Friday! Are you all excited for the weekend? I’m writing this post in a little bit of a rush because I was reading all day, lost track of time and now I’m meant to be going out with friends in less than an hour and I am not ready and still have to write this so Godspeed to me!
As always this is a Spoiler Free review.
I also read this this morning and wanted to get a review out whilst all the thoughts were still fresh in my head.
Anyway, let’s jump into the review.

Goodreads Description:
An alien soldier without emotions.
Finn is three quarters Asazi and one quarter human. He’s a lieutenant in the Asazi army and his desire is to be the best soldier he can. He’s spent a lifetime denying his human side, only to find out that now it makes him key to a mission on Earth. A mission that includes Marissa Sanchez, Target 41, a determined, smart-mouthed spitfire that brings out emotions his Asazi nature rejects.
A human woman with a target on her.
Marissa’s dream is to keep her restaurant from being seized by ruthless developers. She’s broke, out of options, has a deadline, and a cheating ex who offers to marry her and solve her financial problems. Everything changes when a guy named Finn saves her life and provides a completely different kind of option.
Review:
This was another meh book for me.
Was there anything particular about it that I disliked? Not really. Was there anything I liked about it either? Not really.
It lived in a limbo territory of not bad but never good and if anything that annoys me more than a book where I actually dislike elements of it. This was so bland and flat. It was also incredibly rushed. She goes from hating him to loving him in the span of one drunken night that she doesn’t even remember. He loves her upon seeing her for the first time and its never explained why. Sci-Fi romances typically have quite an insta-love plotline that I don’t mind because we are usually given a reason for it, the aliens form of mating or whatever, but here – literally nothing. They were just instantly in love.
It was also set entirely on Earth which was pretty disappointing for a sci-fi romance. I loved the idea of him being an solider and her being is target but that’s not really how its written considering he has no idea why he has to get her. The blurb and word target make it sound as if he’s going to try to kill her… When he just needs to knock her out. There was also random ex-fiancés for both partners and it felt so pointless to the story to have either, other than to bulk out a sagging plot. So yeah, the plot really disappointed me.
Oh and also, it had a cliff-hanger. But nothing that made me want to read on, so many things were left unanswered (hence why its a cliff-hanger) but their story had no plot in the first place so how it could continue into a second story is beyond me.
Anyway, as you can tell this was not my jam, too many things missing and nothing to replace them with left it feeling flat.
Overall Score = 4/10
