Portentous

Wednesday’s Word of the Week: Portentous

Definition: done in a pompously or overly solemn manner so as to impress.

Where I Heard It: My creative writing teacher brought this word up in class and I hadn’t heard it before, but it is much like it’s popular counterpart: pretentious. I thought it would be the perfect word for this week seeing as I just had my last class for the term recently.

Pronunciation: p-or-ten-sh-us

As always, Stay safe guys!
